Action: Create definition

Using definitions, it is possible to integrate a part of the name of parent folders or of the own name into the name. For folders also the names of contained files and folders can be used. The temporarily stored definitions can be used for renaming and for the creation of sub-folders when moving or copying files.

Which name to use?

Determines the source from which a part of the name is to be stored temporarily. You can choose from the following types:

• the own name
• the name of a contained file (only to be used for folder names)
• the name of a contained folder (only to be used for folder names)
• a parent folder name

Which part of the name to use?

Determines the part of the name that will be stored temporarily in the previously determined definition. The following area types can be selected:

• the whole name
• a character type
• an area (defined by position, search term, character type or regular expression)
