Action: Insert

This action allows you to insert data (e.g., a numbering) at a previously defined position of the name.

Where to insert?

Determines the position at which the new text is to be inserted. The following position informations are available:

  • at position
  • in front of/behind a text
  • in front of/behind a character type
  • in front of/behind every of the characters

What to insert?

Defines the text to be inserted at the specified position. The following types can be inserted:

  • a text
  • a numbering (consecutive or random order, for duplicate names only)

The numbering type "for duplicate names only" is used to avoid naming conflicts and is inserted only in the case of duplicate names.

Leading zeros are designated by the length of the initial value (i.e., 1, 01, 001). With the Step you specify by how much the value increases with each name.

In the section "Number separately" can be determined if and when the numbering should be done separately.

    • Folders - the numbering is done separately for each folder
    • File types - the numbering is done separately for each file extension
    • Names - the numbering is done separately for all new names (e.g., if multiple names contain the same date in the new name)
